FUN-LOVING doodlers at a Leamington school have been raising money for a playground makeover.
Pupils at Milverton Primary School have been busy penning self-portraits – and one of headteacher Matt Fisher – for a fund-raising calendar for a new £12,000 climbing tower.
Calendar sales have so far raised £555 towards the play equipment. The project also received a boost from estate agency ehB Residential which previously supported the school’s Grow a Pound scheme. This saw each child invest a pound in capital equipment which they used to set up micro-businesses and earn money for the school.
Some of the pupils clubbed together to buy more expensive items, including gardening gloves, nail polish and mops, enabling them to offer weeding, manicures and cleaning services.
