Draft masterplan for future of Leamington's Newbold Comyn unveiled

Leamington Editorial 26th Mar, 2020   0

RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on a draft masterplan for the future of Leamington’s Newbold Comyn.

It was drawn up following a survey carried out last year asking which sport and physical activities people would like to see at the park.

Now residents will have the opportunity to give their feedback on the masterplan in an online consultation which runs from Monday (March 30) to May 8.

It includes an extension to the nature reserve, a pitch and putt, high ropes, outdoor climbing and zip wires, new visitor centre and café with football pavilion and a variety of cycle tracks across the former golf course.

Warwick District Council neighbourhood services spokesman Coun David Norris said: “The council has rightly taken its time to study the future of Newbold Comyn, considering the local need for sport and physical activity facilities whilst also looking at how cost effective and sustainable these facilities are.

“The draft masterplan we feel best reflects this, and I would urge as many people as possible to take part in this survey as we finalise the future of Newbold Comyn, so we can ensure that we are providing facilities that will be used for generations to come.”
