Dragon Den-style bidding to take place for community funding

COMMUNITY projects in and around Kenilworth are being urged to bid Dragon’s Den style for up to £3,000.

The Rotary Club of Kenilworth is launching ‘Bid 4 Awards’ offering individuals, schools, charities and other organisations the chance to secure support towards a hands-on community project.

Applicants are invited to submit bids outlining their proposed project by November 21. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to the Rotary ‘Bid 4 Awards’ evening to pitch their ideas to a judging panel, in front of an invited audience, at The Holiday Inn on January 17.

A Rotary spokesman said: “Our aim is to encourage local people to come together to give their time for the benefit the local community. The sort of projects that groups and individuals may consider could include such ideas as planting a community garden or establishing a children’s play area, for example.”

The maximum single award will be up to £3,000, with other awards being made for smaller scale projects.
