Drive-in church service held in Kenilworth

A CHURCH service with a difference has been held in Kenilworth.

St Paul’s Church in Leamington recently teamed up with Kenilworth Drive In Cinema to offer more than 350 worshippers the chance to enjoy the 45 minute service from the safety of their cars.

The church had been unable to meet in person since March due to the pandemic.

But more than 140 cars pulled into the site on Leamington Road to enjoy worship, prayer, teaching, a bible quiz and games.

Rev Adam Tams said: “Thanks to the team at Kenilworth Drive In Cinema, we worshipped together from our cars. It was our first opportunity to be together since the pandemic started.

“The church building may have been closed since March, but the church has very much been open throughout lockdown – we’ve continued to serve our community, to pray, and of course continued to meet online. That said, meeting virtually is never going to take the place of worshiping together – and we were so blessed by the weather, and those who helped make it happen.”
