A PENSIONER was attacked and robbed in Leamington.

The 84-year-old man was walking with a crutch along Milverton Terrance around 11pm on Wednesday (January 20) when he was hit on the head from behind.

He fell, dropping his bag, and suffered cuts and bruises to his hands and knees.

The robber demanded money and grabbed the victim’s bag – a blue canvas briefcase containing a newspaper and assorted papers – and ran off in the direction of the fire station.

The thief is described as a clean shaven black man in his mid to late 20s. He was wearing a black hooded top, dark trousers and shoes.

Officers investigating the incident want to hear from anyone with information to contact 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 500 111.
