Elves spread festive cheer to people with learning difficulties in Leamington and Warwick

SANTA’S elves have been out and about spreading festive cheer to people with learning disabilities in Leamington and Warwick.

A team of volunteers from National Grid spent the day with Heart of England Mencap which began with helping at the charity’s Christmas coffee morning.

Their day of spreading seasonal joy did not stop there – they went on to help out at a Christmas party at Pathway – HofE Mencap’s activity group which meets at WarwickSpace.

Volunteer Teresa Langlands said: “We were delighted to spend the day supporting Heart of England Mencap and helping bring Christmas cheer to its customers.

“This wonderful charity makes a huge difference to people with learning disabilities in the county.”

Fundraising manager Cath Errington thanked the volunteers and supermarket giant Asda which donated £500 to support the party.

She added: “For a small charity like ours this kind of support makes such a huge difference and has a big impact on local lives.”

Heart of England Mencap supports individuals with learning disabilities across Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
