Endangered species make rare appearance at Leamington's Art in the Park event

A MENAGERIE of endangered animals made a rare appearance at Leamington’s Art in The Park festival.

Climate change campaigners from Extinction Rebellion (XR) invited crafters to create masks and 3D models of orangutans, puffins and birds to highlight their plight.

The creations formed part of a ‘Parade Against Extinction’ around Jephson Gardens.

XR members carried placards which highlighted facts about why UK and world mammals, birds, and butterflies were heading for extinction.

The group also held a stall displaying information about Extinction Rebellion and other organisations campaigning to protect wildlife from extinction.

There was also a quiz about endangered species with eco-friendly prizes donated by local businesses and individuals.
