EV charging points installed at Charlecote Park

VISITORS to Charlecote Park can now charge their vehicles in the car park.

Fourteen electric vehicle charging points have been set up in the resurfaced car park at the National Trust property.

The work is an important step in the National Trust’s energy strategy, looking at how to mitigate some of the effects of climate change.

General manager Rebecca Watson said: “We know that lots of people already travel by electric car when they visit Charlecote and this will quickly become more common with the national transition away from petrol and diesel vehicles.

“As an organisation, the trust is working towards being carbon net-zero by 2030 and this futureproofing work at Charlecote is an important local step towards achieving this much wider ambition.

“We’re really keen to make it easy for people to have a greener day out with us and, as well as the option of travelling by electric car, we’d also encourage local visitors to use the number 15 bus service which runs between Stratford, Wellesbourne, Warwick and Leamington, stopping just outside Charlecote’s main entrance.”

The new charging points have been installed and are being run by destination charging operator RAW Charging.
