Extra collections and staffing to ensure no overflowing bins this Christmas

Leamington Editorial 20th Dec, 2017   0

WARWICK District Council is going the extra mile to make sure nobody is left with an overflowing bin this Christmas.

Council chiefs have planned three weekend bin collections and extra staffing over the festive season.

Changes to the refuse and recycling schedules means collections due on Monday (December 25) will take place two days earlier on Saturday (December 23). All other collections will be a day later than usual.

The schedules will go back to normal on Monday January 8.

Council neighbourhood services spokeswoman Coun Moira-Ann Grainger said: “The council and our contractor have been working very hard to ensure we all receive a good recycling and refuse service during the holiday period.

“The fact that both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on a Monday this year has meant that everyone’s collection days will change.”
