A FAMILY-OWNED pub has struck gold after winning the top prize at the Leamington In Bloom awards.
The Newbold Comyn Arms was the joint overall winner in the pubs section – along with The Somerville Arms – of the annual competition and received its gold award certificate from Leamington mayor Heather Calver. It is the second time the pub has won the competition.
Sarah Miller, owner of Newbold Comyn Arms, said: “It was an honour to receive the gold award for a second time, having won the title in 2016 and the silver certificate in 2017.
“My family and I work hard to create an atmospheric and welcoming pub, and we receive a lot of support from the community.
“We love being part of the In Bloom awards and bringing some summer colour to the town.”
The award comes in the wake of Leamington winning the gold certificate in the Heart of England In Bloom awards.
