Farm gates open to meet newborn lambs at Moreton Morrell College

THE FARM gates will be opening to celebrate the arrival of spring and newborn lambs this weekend.

The live-lambing event takes place at Moreton Morrell College, home to Nether Moreton Farm, on Saturday and Sunday (March 23 and 24) from 10.30am to 4pm,

Visitors can meet the lambs at the farm, climb on a tractor and find out about how the livestock is cared for.

The family event returned last year when visitors witnessed over 40 live births and youngsters got to hold and bottle-feed lambs.

Farmer Henry Dingle said: “Last year hundreds of visitors enjoyed the spectacle of lambs being born so we are really looking forward to opening the farm gates once again. Our flock began lambing in early March so hopefully the timing will be right for what will be a memorable weekend.

As well as the lambing shed, visitors can also enjoy tours of the Animal Welfare centre home to over 100 species of animals including meerkats and many more.

Family tickets are £15 (adults £6 and children £3).
