Fears grow for missing elderly woman

Leamington Editorial 10th Aug, 2017   0

FEARS are growing for a missing elderly woman from Southam.

Valerie Burnham, from Mayfield Road, was last seen around 9.30am on Tuesday (August 8) at the bus stop outside Robert Dyas store, on The Parade in Leamington.

It is thought the 74 year-old may have boarded the bus for Stratford and has not been seen since.

She is white, 5ft 3ins with a medium build, short grey hair, a fair complexion, brown eyes and glasses, and has a Midlands accent. She was last seen wearing a faded light green jacket with a hood and black trousers.

PC Debbie Young said: “We are doing all we can to find Valerie as quickly as we can but so far without luck. To go away under these circumstances is out of character for her, and adds to our concern.

“We have done extensive searches in Southam and surrounding local area, and we are also investigating whether she has attempted to make her way to Birmingham or Swansea.”

Police are extremely concerned for Valerie’s welfare and are urging anyone who may have seen her to call them on 101.
