Fifth arrest made in connection with the death of a man at a house in Kenilworth

A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in connection with a man’s death in Kenilworth last month.

Warwickshire Police were called to a house in Chestnut Avenue on Friday March 20 after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man.

The man – 45-year-old Carl Stephens – had died.

A 51-year-old woman from Solihull arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice has been bailed until June while a 72-year-old woman previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender was also bailed pending further enquiries.

Three people – a 24-year-old man from Birmingham, a 49-year-old woman from Kenilworth and a 16-year-old boy from Kenilworth – have been charged in connection with his death.

They are set to appear at Warwick Crown Court on Wednesday May 20.
