THOSE looking to support a good cause are invited to find out more about volunteering.
Community and voluntary action group Warwickshire Cava is hosting an event in the Upper Matt of the Royal Priors between midday and 2pm on Wednesday (January 30).
They and representatives from local charities hope to showcase the health benefits of volunteering which includes improved mental wellbeing.
Those taking part in the volunteer drive include Barnardos, British Heart Foundation, Helping Hands and Friendship Project – to name just a few.
Helen Wilkinson, volunteer co-ordinator for Warwick district at Warwickshire CAVA said: “People volunteer for a whole host of reasons: some people want to feel part of something and make friends. For others it’s about giving something back to a cause they feel passionate about. Others volunteer to gain skills and experience that can open new doors in their working lives. Whatever the reason, the result is usually improved wellbeing.”
