FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a bonfire which had got out of control in Kenilworth.

The fire which ripped through woods near Stoneleigh Road at around 10pm on Tuesday, was unattended and had been spotted by a passerby who thought it was a car.

It took the crew around two hours to ensure the flames were fully out.

A spokesperson warned to never leave bonfires unattended and to ensure water was at hand.
