First ever headteacher appointed to new Leamington school

THE VERY first headteacher has been appointed at a brand new school in Leamington.

Oakley School, on the Oakley Grove housing estate, is set to welcome its first cohort of students in September 2023.

And Sarah Kaye will be first headteacher to walk the corridors of the new all-through school for four to 16 year olds, which is part of Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust.

Having worked jointly as Headteacher of Southam College since September and previously as Deputy Headteacher, Sarah will take on the Headship at Oakley with a wealth of experience behind her.

During the next few months, Sarah will be working with parents, students, and the community to prepare for the school opening. The school is set to launch their staff recruitment drive, deliver transition days for pupils, and host induction days and evenings in the coming months.

Sarah said: “I am thrilled to be appointed as Oakley School’s first ever headteacher. I believe that all children and young people should go to a school where brilliant staff support them through excellent teaching and pastoral care to be the best they can be.

“As a local parent of four young children, I understand the important role that the school plays in the lives of children and their families and I am excited to work with our families to develop this brand new school into a truly wonderful place to be. Oakley School will serve its community for many years to come and in the role of headteacher I look forward to working with the local community to ensure that it a school they can be proud to call their own.”

Ranjit Samra, CEO of Stowe Valley, added: “As you can imagine the opportunity to open an brand new school is extremely rare. We had interest from across the country and overseas in the role. The interview process was incredibly robust and in appointing Sarah we have an exceptional headteacher who is going to ensure Oakley School will be fantastic school.”
