Fitness fans can reach new heights on climbing wall

A CLIMBING wall means fitness fanatics can reach new heights at Leamington’s Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre.

The Clip and Climb centre is suitable for all ages and offers 13 different climbing experiences.

Its opening signals the completion of work at Newbold Comyn, which has taken around a year and a half but now has a new four-court sports hall, changing area, café and reception area.

Warwick District Council has pumped nearly £15million into upgrading facilities at Newbold Comyn and St Nicholas Park. It has since employed leisure provider Everyone Active to manage the sites.

District leisure spokesman Coun Michael Coker said: “We have truly reached new heights with these wonderful new facilities, which are now available at Newbold Comyn. We have put a huge amount of careful investment into the district’s leisure centres, providing local people with new opportunities to enjoy and active and healthy lifestyle.

“I am looking forward to trying out the lower part of the Clip and Climb myself and very much hope this will encourage everyone to come and see what is now on offer, whatever your age, fitness-level or ability.”
