FIVE men have been arrested after part of a man’s ear was bitten off during a Boxing Day attack in Warwick.

The men – two of whom are 45, and the others 42, 43, and 46 – are all from Warwick.

They were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and wounding with intent, and are on bail until February 4.

It follows an assault at the Spice Hut restaurant in Market Square around 11pm which saw a man have part of his ear bitten off.

A disagreement began between two groups of men in the restaurant, which resulted in the physical altercation.

Det Insp Jon Belcher said: “This man has been left with life-changing injuries, in what was a savage and unprovoked attack. “We are keen to hear from anyone near the restaurant or in Market Square who can help our investigation in any way.”

Anyone with any information who has not yet come forward is asked to contact DC 854 Karen Rook on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
