A FLORISTRY student has been crowned RHS Chelsea Florist of the Year.
Rebecca Hough, who studies at Moreton Morrell College, achieved the top spot after creating a floral throne fit for a spring wedding at the world-famous garden show.
Rebecca said: “It’s something that I never thought I would achieve, so to have done it so soon in my career is astonishing.
“I’m just so proud of my throne. It turned out exactly how I imagined, and all the hours of hard work have been worth it.”
Also in the running was Dean Sharpe who was ‘over the moon’ after being awarded a bronze medal for his creation.
Course manager Jane Benefield said: “I am delighted at Rebecca and Dean’s success. To have two students competing at Chelsea is wonderful for Moreton Morrell College. It is a privilege to take part and to win a medal is an outstanding achievement, and an experience I’m sure neither of them will forget.”
