A FORMER breast cancer patient from Leamington is helping put others in the pink.

Kary Hunt who works at Regent Street’s The Boot Room hosted a fund-raiser for the Breast Cancer Support Charity.

A cake and sweetie sale and a raffle, with contributions from many retailers along the street, raised over £600.

Karyn said: “I really need to say a huge thank you to all the local independent traders that make Leamington a special place to live for donating raffle prizes.

“I also need to say a huge thank you to Gavin Pass the owner of The Boot Room for allowing us to host the event and giving away free pink tassels when purchasing Fairfax and Favor boots.

“All in all we have raised an incredible amount. Thank you all. I am sure this will help a massive amount in giving cancer the boot.”

Kary has battled breast cancer for six years and wanted to give something back to the charity which supported her during her fight.

She added: “Cancer is on the increase. Luckily I came out the other side and I want to help others who have faced that horror. If I’d have known someone who had been through it when I did I would have found it much easier.”
