Former brickworks site could be set for 100 homes

THE FORMER Napton Brickworks could have 100 homes built in its place.

Developers St Philips Land have applied to Stratford District Council to build on the land between Oxford Canal and Napton Windmill.

They say the derelict Brickyard Road site, which shut in the 70s, is now regularly targeted by fly-tippers and trespassers using ‘scrambler’ motorbikes on the land.

Thirty-one of the proposed homes would be affordable properties.

A spokesman for the developers said: “The site represents a substantial opportunity to deliver a high quality residential community in a sustainable location within the district.”
