ART lovers are invited to Leamington Art Gallery’s new season of free ‘Friday Focus’ talks.

The season starts on Friday September 8, with a talk about the Pump Rooms, the gallery and museum’s collection, and the history of Leamington. Artist Pamela Schilderman will also discuss her self portrait, which is currently on display in the centre’s Spotlight alcove.

On September 15, Ryan Hughes, director of Coventry Biennial of Contemporary Art, will talk about the diverse range of work across Coventry as the city prepares to bid for the UK City of Culture 2021, and a week later Tammy Woodrow will give a talk on British painter David Tindle.

There will be a special hour-long Friday Focus Extra with project curator Jeff Watkin on September 29. Jeff will talk about The Benevolent Despot: Alderman Alfred Holt (1858-1943) and the foundation of Leamington Spa Art Gallery exhibition.

All talks start at 1pm and last around 25 minutes. There is no need to book.
