FREE electric blanket tests are being offered across Warwickshire.
Many blankets have been found to be faulty during previous tests in the county and those over 50 are invited to have their blankets tested.
Testing will take place at fire stations from Monday November 18 – at Stratford (Monday), Alcester (Tuesday), Leamington (Wednesday, and Rugby (Thursday).
Stratford councillor Cohl Warren-Howles has been working closely with John Wilson, Commander of Fire and Rescue Service to arrange the testing. She said: “I have been working with John Wilson following a number of residents asking me about the testing of electric blankets.I contacted the fire service about whether they could help. Obviously this service is a necessity, as untested blankets could potentially be a fire risk.”
Appointments for testing are available between 9.30am and 4.30pm.
