Fund-raisers snorkel or swim to support injured servicemen and women

Leamington Editorial 21st Nov, 2017   0

FUNDRAISERS will be taking the plunge in Southam to help injured servicemen and women.

ScubAction Dive Group is hosting the event at Southam Leisure Centre on Sunday December 3 where participants will snorkel or swim as far as possible during the afternoon.

The event is in aid of Fisher House – a ‘home away from home’ for military patients and families at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Birmingham. When patients are going through treatment, families can stay at Fisher House to be near them.

The charity is completely funded by charitable donations from the public, Help for Heroes and SSAFA.

Participants so far include pupils from North Leamington School, Southam Leisure Centre and the Southam 2008 RAF Air Cadet Squadron.

To take part call Southam Leisure Centre on 01926 817788.

To make a donation, cheques can be made payable to Queen Elizabeth hospital Birmingham Charity, via ScubAction’s JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/scubaaction1 or on the day of the event.
