Fund-raisers zip across Ricoh Arena in aid of Myton Hospice

HIGH FLYING fund-raisers zipped across Coventry’s Ricoh Arena in aid of Myton Hospice.

The charity recently held its first zip wire event which saw 125 people take on the 135 metre line.

It raised more than £30,000 for the charity, which supports those with life-limiting illnesses.

Myton spokeswoman Rebecca Richards said: “People are always looking for new and exciting ways to raise money for Myton and our first zip wire was the perfect event for this. Some people wanted to face their fears or challenge themselves to try something crazy, while others were looking for an adrenaline rush.

“It was great to see people soar across the Ricoh Arena in crazy costumes and some lovely in memory t-shirts, and to hear them sharing their motivation for signing up to the event too. Thank you to everyone who took part, volunteered on the day and sponsored the participants – we couldn’t put on events like this without all of you.”

*A CHARITY shop is holding a fashion show to showcase its clothes and accessories.

Myton Hospice’s Wellesbourne shop is hosting the event at Wellesbourne Village Hall on Friday (August 2) at 7pm.

The show will include a raffle and organisers say is a way to see the stock on offer.

Tickets cost £1 including hot drink.
