Funding available to boost adult numeracy in Warwickshire

FUNDING is up for grabs to boost adult numeracy in Warwickshire – particularly Stratford district.

Groups geared at improving adult numeracy can apply for a share of government funding through The Multiply Project.

Multiply was launched in response to research which showed that around 17 million adults in England – half of the working-age population – have the numeracy skills of primary school children.

To address this locally, Warwickshire County Council has received funding via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund over a three-year period to deliver programmes to adults who do not already have a GCSE grade C/4 or higher in Maths or an equivalent qualification.

Projects can be profiled to run in just one local area or across the whole county.

WCC is particularly looking to support projects designed to upskill employees and support in-work progression in Stratford district.

The deadline for applications is Monday (November 6) at 1 pm.
