Gallery 150 in urgent new home appeal

Leamington Editorial 5th Feb, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

ARTISTS in Leamington are desperately searching for a new home.

Gallery 150, which has been based in Regent Court for the past four years, is being forced to find a new base to make way for further development at the shopping centre.

The charity, run by the LSA-Leamington Studio Artists, only recently moved across the street to make way for the new Yo! Sushi restaurant, and spent time and money renovating the premises.

But in less than a month Gallery 150 will be homeless and is now looking for new premises.

Manager Kate Livingston said: “We spent many hard hours renovating the new gallery, to make it to a high standard. Visitors have commented it felt like a London Gallery.

“The Gallery was fully booked with exhibitions until August, and it has been with great sadness that these artists have been informed that Gallery 150 will not be able to host their exhibitions.

“Gallery 150 was more than a gallery it was the hub of the LSA which represents over 300 members in the Midlands and further afield.

“It is a brilliant gallery that gives all LSA members the opportunity to showcase their artwork in a professional setting. Gallery 150 has grown from strength to strength over the years, and has become a very popular exhibition space and retail venue for customers.”

The gallery has proved a big success since opening and has also staged a number of charity exhibitions raising funds for various good causes.
