General election - UKIP - Bob Dhillon

Leamington Editorial 24th May, 2017   0

LET us not seek the Conservative answer or the Labour answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.

My parents came to England as migrants. I believe that we should celebrate our rich cultural heritage promoting integration, harmony and community.

Immigration – I believe in a Points based system like USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. As a local businessman, I have seen the rise of Machines (Robotics), business forecast we will lose 20-30 per cent of all jobs done by us. Since 1997 governments have allowed immigration figures to reach 80 million and on course to reach 100million by 2022. Threatening jobs, lowering wages, putting pressure on services and long-term lead to dis-unity unless we have control.

Brexit- has now been approved by our Parliament, we are no longer Remain or Leave but residents of a great nation wishing to work with others for a Free global trade area and secure borders while respecting national traditions. If elected I will work with all to get the best deal for the British people. Too much focus has been on the EU, we must remember we have a commonwealth of nations who want to trade with us but have been forgotten.

Economy –Only a UKIP vote can ensure a strong and stable economy with more jobs, better wages where hard working people keep more of their money and rich pay their fair share.

I believe in a bottom up approach to tax cuts, aimed at hard working families, low paid jobs and small business not given away to the top super rich if we want to revitalise the economy. We will reduce the burden of tax on Small business, cut regulations to help job creation. (super rich wealth has risen by 2000 per cent yet we are still in recession/debt – something is not working)

Home ownership – Help more people realise their dream of owning their own home with a NEW Help to Buy programme which offers 10% discount for first time buyers paid by developers. All planning application to be 50 per cent affordable & Re start Social Council building to help affordability. Stop land banking by developers, use it or Lose it policy.

I want our region to lead the way in new green technologies to help protect our environment. Fit all new housing with energy-saving technology and ensure infrastructure is in place to cope with new buildings

NHS – Caring for the most vulnerable is at the heart of my own personal values. I’ve cared and supported both my parents with serious illness in later life before death. It is vital to have quality frontline services like our NHS and ensure everyone in our society gets the vital services local people need. We can release the stress immediately by scrapping PFI interest payments, stop Foreign tourism and convert Trusts to non-profit boards. Long term we plan to modernise hospitals, scrap car park charges, increase Doctors and Nurse numbers to meet demand.

Funded: Bankers Tax on Trillion-pound bonus. (We bailed them out now they can help rebuild a great institution)

Education – Level playing field for all, start by Abolishing Tuition Fees a tax on Learning and creativity. Fees have gone from £3000 up to £15000, interest from two to six per cent which will enslave them in Debt for generations. We will deliver choice (as one model does not fit all solutions) making sure funding is fairly spread around the school’s system. We will deliver the skills our young people need to fulfil their potential. Expand apprenticeships so the next generation can earn while they learn the skills to succeed in life. Funded: City of London Transaction Tax

Transport – We need to upgrade public infrastructure, transport links, especially maintaining and reinstating rural bus routes that many communities depend on and which feed town-centre businesses and markets. Increase provision of free parking to regenerate town centres and boost business. Funded: scrapping HS2 100 billion vanity project

Crime – Get police officers back on the beat and stop the scrapping of front-line police jobs. Adopt a zero-tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour, Drugs, People trafficking, cyber and online hate crime and crack down on nuisance neighbours. Funded: Sales Tax on online companies & Proceeds of Crime.

Defence – I will fully support NATO, our Armed Forces and Maintaining our Nuclear deterrent to keep us safe in an uncertain world.

Let us make our future now, and let us make our dreams tomorrow’s reality.
