GEORGI Curtis is ‘Braving the Shave’ to raise money for Warwick Hospital’s Breast Care Unit.

Georgi will say goodbye to her long blonde locks on Monday (July 13) to raise money for a new Mammography Chair for the Helen Clark Suite. The chair will ensure a more comfortable experience for patients.

Georgi chose to raise money for the unit as her friend is currently undergoing treatment there.

She said, “When my best friend was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and learned that she would lose her hair during treatment, I wanted to support her while helping to raise awareness. As more traditional fund-raising methods have been hampered by coronavirus, I thought it would be a radical idea to shave my hair off in support of the unit and my friend.”

A spokesperson for SWFT Charity, the trust’s official NHS Charity, thanked Georgi.

They added: “It’s really brave of her to shave off her wonderful hair, and it’s so nice of her to support her friend in this way at such a difficult time. We know the team in the Breast Care Unit are hugely appreciative of her efforts.”
