Getting ready for Christmas in Whitnash

Leamington Editorial 19th Nov, 2021   0

CHRISTMAS will officially get underway in Whitnash with the lights switch-on next month.

The event will take place on Sunday December 5 at the Plough & Harrow, with the fun starting at 4pm.

As ever, the switch-on event will be organised by volunteers from Whitnash Town Council, their families and friends.

There will be live music from The Intruders and Twisted Minds, with dance troupe Fit 2 Dance performing between the two sets.

A magician will provide some street magic, and of course Father Christmas will take time out of his busy schedule to pay a visit.

There will also be fairground rides and a selection of stalls for local organisations and charities, including a bottle and chocolate tombola and raffle stall.

The raffle will be drawn at 6pm, with a first prize of £100, a second prize of a wine hamper, and a third prize of a meal for four, together with other prizes.

Chairman of the Whitnash Christmas Lights Working Committee Simon Button said: “We would like to thank A C Lloyd for the major sponsorship and the financial support from an array of local companies and individuals. Without this generosity we could not put on this popular community event.

“Special thanks go to Sigourney Gowlett and her team at the New Plough Harrow, for their outstanding assistance, along with our own team of volunteers, including Adrian from Booths Electrics and Dave Herbert from Whitnash Homes & Gardens.”
