A GP surgery is to expand due to lack of space.
Clarendon Lodge on Clarendon Street has been granted permission to turn three offices on Russell Street into GP consultation rooms.
The practice, which serves around 13,500 patients, says ‘increasing demands’ on its services means it is forced to seek extra accommodation.
It will now develop three former offices at the Grade II listed Gainsborough Hall Care Home on Russell Street.
The Care Quality Commission says the surgery serves an ‘above average’ elderly population along with a number of students and 11 nearby care and nursing homes.
