Green-fingered youngsters jump aboard flower train

IT’S full steam ahead for Leamington in Bloom.

Mayor Caroline Evetts made tracks to Jephson gardens to launch two geranium trains grown by schoolchildren.

Schools and nurseries have been involved in planting the displays over the past 12 years – helping achieve a top award in 2016.

One train will be donated to the railway station and the other will be displayed outside the tropical plant house at the gardens.

Judges will visit next week to inspect the work done over the past 12 months.

Coun Evetts said: “It was a wonderful day the sun shone and the children enjoyed seeing their flowers displayed in the geranium train.”
