TALENTED hairdressers from across the Midlands will be descending on Leamington College to prove themselves a cut above the rest.
The WorldSkills UK Regional Final is being held at the college’s salon on Tuesday (June 6) and will see hairdressers go head-to-head to represent the region on the national stage.
The college will welcome 18 competitors and judges from WorldSkills UK and the winners on the day will go on to compete in the WorldSkills UK National Finals, to get the chance to represent the country internationally.
Amanda Green, Head of Department for Hair and Beauty at Leamington College, said: “It’s an honour for us to have the chance to host this competition and provide the backdrop for what should be a day of incredible competition.
“Our showcase salon is ideal for competition work and provides a professional-quality setting for the competitors to carry out their tasks.
“This is an inspirational event and we hope to have students in the competition in the years to come. As a college group we are very supportive of WorldSkills competitions and recognise the huge benefits they can bring to the development of students.
“We’re excited to be a part of this and wish all of the competitors the very best for the competition.”
