HEALTH chiefs are looking to create a dedicated diagnostics centre at Stratford Hospital.
South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust has submitted a planning application
for the South Warwickshire’s Community Diagnostic Centre.
Chief strategy officer Sophie Gilkes said: “In line with the national diagnostics strategy, Coventry and Warwickshire were awarded funding to develop three Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs).
“The south Warwickshire CDC, which is based at Stratford Hospital, is already operational with additional diagnostic equipment available across the site – increasing access to CT and MRI scans.
“The trust is now seeking planning permission to develop a dedicated, fit for purpose building to co-locate all diagnostic services. This is going to be a great asset for the local community, making access to vital diagnostic procedures closer to home, with shorter waiting times and improving experiences and outcomes.”
