BRAVE knights at Warwick Castle are really showing their mettle as they fend off the heat.
Clad in plate and chainmail armour, complete with helmet and visor, the knights’ experience of the heatwave is likely to be several degrees hotter than other staff and visitors.
And as a result, measures have been put in place at the castle to ensure that the knights, and any other staff members in heavy costume, keep cool as the fahrenheit creeps up.
This includes taking frequent shady breaks in the grounds, frequent rotations of staff so they can spend time cooling off in the confines of the castle and flagons of water.
Less medieval measures include lashings of sun cream and even an ice cream, or two.
