THOUSANDS of poppies are needed to create a giant remembrance wall in Warwick to mark the centenary of the First World War.
Organisers of the Warwick Poppies 2018 project are inviting people to knit, crochet and create felt or paper poppies on Saturday (October 7), at the Fusiliers Museum at St John’s House, in Warwick, from 11am to 3.30pm
The group hopes to make 11,500 poppies – the number of men who in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment who lost their lives in the Great War
The session is part of the Fun Palaces celebration of art and science taking place across Warwickshire during the weekend.
Where possible, materials will be provided and templates or patterns are available.
The completed wall will be at St Mary’s Church from late September next year.
