Hero healthworker takes to the skies for dare-devil stunt

A SUPERHERO is taking to the skies in aid of staff at Warwick Hospital.

Hem Jain, a practitioner in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, will be wing-walking to raise funds for South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Fund.

The 30-something was inspired to take on the stunt to support fellow heroes following the difficulty and strain placed on medical staff during the coronavirus crisis.

She said: “The pandemic has left healthcare staff feeling mentally and physically overworked and stressed.

“I feel it is paramount to support the welfare of my fellow colleagues and to say a big thank you for all their hard work and endless hours dedicated to caring for patients and supporting their families through their most difficult time.

“I know from first-hand experience the blood sweat and tears it has taken for our team to survive this past year. This is why I have decided to undertake this ‘daredevil’ stunt to raise money to give something back to our local NHS heroes.”

Hem will be taking on the challenge tomorrow (Friday). She is aiming to raise at least £500.
