Hidden geological wonders to be uncovered in Warwickshire

NATURAL hidden wonders are set to be uncovered in Warwickshire.

Geoweek, running from from May 5 to 13, is a new national awareness week aimed at introducing people to geoscience – the study of the planet and its many different natural geologic systems.

The project has taken off in Spain where some 10,000 people participate in various events and earth science festivals on ‘Geoloday’ each year.

And in Warwickshire, volunteers and geology enthusiasts will lead family-friendly walks throughout the county.

The Warwickshire Geological Conservation Group was set up nearly 20 years ago to raise awareness of the landscape and conserve some of the many rock exposures dotted around Warwickshire.
