STORMY weather and safety concerns have prompted organisers to cancel Kenilworth Market.
The market on Thursday (February 23) will close for the day with winds expected to reach nearly 30mph and gusts up to 60mph.
Jamie Walker of organisers CJ’s Events said: “After liaising with Warwick District Council we have unfortunately come to the decision to cancel tomorrows market. We are concerned with such strong winds forecasted.
“Additional to the winds there are predicted strong gusts in Kenilworth presenting a risk to both people and buildings in Abbey End.
“This decision has not been taken lightly and while we appreciate that this will leave traders and members of the public disappointed, our overriding concern will always be the safety of the public, traders and our staff.”
The market will return as normal next Thursday (March 2).
