A HORSE had to be rescued after falling into a ditch in Moreton Morrell.

Firefighters, the Large Animal Rescue Team and a local vet were called to Galileo farm to help 26-year-old Poppy after she fell onto her side in the ditch on Saturday.

Thankfully, Poppy was able to go straight back to her owners and was none the worse for her ordeal

A spokesman from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue said: “A crew from Leamington helped to secure the scene and assisted the Large Animal Rescue team from Rugby and the local vet to help release the horse from the ditch using rescue gear and lines.”
