MYTON Hospice is urging golfers to swing into action for its annual golf day.

The event will take place at Coventry Golf Club on Thursday October 15, but this year will different to the charity’s previous golf days.

While competitions with prizes will be on offer the evening dinner and auction cannot be held due to social distancing.

On arrival teams will be greeted with coffee and bacon rolls, enjoy 18 holes of golf and try their hand at the competition holes, and a one-course meal will then be served at the end of their round. Each team will also receive two free entries into the raffle on the day. To ensure everyone’s safety tee times will be staggered between 8am and 2pm.

Entry for a team of four costs £300 for non-Coventry Golf Club members and £120 for members.

Event organiser Yasmin Audhali said: “Our annual golf day is always a wonderful occasion and we are really looking forward to welcoming old friends and new.

“Our fundraising has been dealt a huge blow by the pandemic and your support has never been more important, so we hope you will join us, enjoy a great day out, and help raise as much money as possible to help Myton support terminally ill patients across Coventry and Warwickshire.”

The event is sponsored by jewellers Tustains.

Manager Tom Milner said: “The Myton Golf Day is always a fantastic occasion and raises such a wonderful amount of money for a truly worthy cause.”
