THIEVES have been stealing hand sanitiser from south Warwickshire hospitals.

In recent days a picture has been posted on social media of alcohol gel dispensers which have been pulled from the toilet walls at Warwick Hospital.

And the chief executive of South Warwickshire Foundation Trust (SWFT) – who oversees the running of hospitals in Warwick, Stratford, Leamington and Shipston – took to twitter to reveal a person had also filled up a bottle using the trust’s dispenser.

Glen Burley said: “Person seen in Outpatients filling up their own bottle from our alcohol gel dispenser. Thank goodness that the vast majority of the British public are respectful of others and our amazing NHS. Unbelievable.”

Over the weekend queues outside supermarkets including Aldi on Leamington’s Queensway stretched down the road while people waited to get into shops.

Many stores have now limited quantities of some items including toilet roll, pasta, hand gel and soap to stop people panic bulk-buying.
