A HOTEL in Kenilworth is set to be turned into luxury student housing despite numerous objections.
Victoria Lodge Hotel on Warwick Road will be transformed into a ‘house in multiple occupation’ – with 11 en-suite bedrooms, a shared kitchen and garden.
Neighbours had raised a number of concerns about the planning proposals, including an increase in noise levels, drivers parking on nearby roads and that it would ‘attract undesirables’.
Applicant Neill Currie said: “The target market for residents would be postgraduate students and young professionals associated with Warwick University. It will be run in a very similar way to the existing guest house with the exception of breakfast.
“The service will only attract a high standard of clientele – as such we would expect anti-social behaviour not to be an issue.”
