Housebuilder wins 'most considerate company in the UK’ award

Leamington Editorial 2nd Apr, 2017   0

A HOUSEBUILDER in the district has been named the most considerate house builder in the UK.

Great Alne-based Linfoot Country Homes – a family firm which has been building small-scale eco-sensitive developments of up to 50 homes in rural areas of the south Midlands since 1985 – beat thousands of other construction companies to win the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s ‘Most Considerate Company in the UK’ award.

Linfoot was selected as the winner of the £250,000 to £3.5million turnover category and was also the only house building company to be declared an overall winner.

The assessment procedure included appearance of sites, respect for the community, protection of the environment, safety and care of their workforce.

The latest triumph, which saw Linfoot selected from all the gold award winners in its category as the top performing company, builds on its success in previous years – with prizes for another gold, two silvers and a bronze, plus most considerate runner up in 2015 also gracing its office trophy cabinet.

Linfoot Country Homes’ development at Long Compton a few years ago was the first to be built by a private housebuilder under the Stratford District Council local choice initiative which is aimed at helping sustain village communities by providing local needs housing on land which would otherwise not be released for development.

It has since then continued to be involved in such schemes, carrying out developments for people with a local connection in Harbury and Ilmington, providing both affordable and local market homes.

Two new local choice schemes are about to start in Broom and Great Alne.

Linfoot Country Homes chairman Ken Linfoot said: “We are delighted to have received a gold award at this year’s national awards ceremony and thrilled to have been declared Most Considerate Company.”

Stratford MP Nadhim Zahawi was full of praise for a company.

He said: “It’s always heart warming to see a great company in my constituency. It goes to prove that it is possible to be considerate and respectful as a business while also being successful.”
