POLICE have launched a car crime crackdown in Leamington.
There were 535 vehicle thefts reported in Warwickshire during October – approaching double the number for the same month the previous year. South Warwickshire saw nearly 300 thefts with Leamington one of the main target areas.
Police have stepped up patrols and four people have been arrested.
Insp Matthew Pyatt said: “We are investing resources into this operation with the intention of identifying offenders, bringing them to justice and preventing further offences.
