HUNDREDS of protesters marched on Leamingon Town Hall to campaign again plans to shut down Parliament.
More than 600 people met in the Pump Room Gardens to hear speeches by local campaigners and MP Matt Western before marching to the hall.
The protest was held to oppose Prime Minister Boris Johnson shutting down Parliament in the week beginning September 9 until October 14 – just weeks before Brexit.
Local Labour party chair, Stef Parkins said: “I would like to thank everyone for coming – this is an incredibly important issue for the whole community. We look to take this protest forward and there will be more such action soon.”
