Hungry Rugby players take on food challenge for charity

RUGBY players put their appetites to the test for charity.

Craig Smith, Henry Bryan and Jamie Tudor-Sabin – of Leamington RFC, Rugby4Heroes and Old Leamingtonians RFC – each took on the challenge of eating a 72oz steak, one pound of fries and two tomatoes in one hour for the Rugby4Heroes Festival.

Although no plate was cleaned, Craig was crowned the winner for eating the most. Leamington’s Bourbon Smokehouse hosted the challenge which is open for anyone to attempt – those who are successful get their mammoth meal for free, their photo on the ‘wall of shame’, a t-shirt and a free meal for four.

The Rugby4Heroes Festival is an annual rugby and music festival set up in 2009 to raise funds for armed forces charities. To date they have raised over £73,000.
