International singer returns home to support Warwick Singathon

AN INTERNATIONAL singer and former Warwick School pupil is coming home for a singathon.

Edward Button is taking centre stage at the major Singathon event on Saturday (March 18) – organised by Warwickshire Youth Choirs and supported by Warwick – A Singing Town – a project launched post-pandemic to promote singing in the town.

Singathon aims to highlight the joy that singing can bring to everyone and will also be raising funds for local charity Kissing it Better.

The singing extravaganza takes place in the King’s High Music auditorium all day with a special performance from 6pm until 7pm in Warwick Hall.

There will also be workshops for all ages and Edward will be leading two afternoon sessions. One from 2.30pm until 3.30pm for young voices aged 11 to 18 and a second session from 3.30pm until 4.30pm for adult voices.

Edward said: “I am so pleased to be an ambassador for Warwick – A Singing Town and amazed by how much they have achieved in such a short space of time. Singing is for everyone and Singathon is the perfect event to prove this.”

Workshops are also taking place online.
