A KEEN runner has raced ahead of the pack and been the first to sign up for the Regency 10k.
Ian Gower from Coventry has taken part in the annual run – organised by Leamington Round Table and sponsored by Wright Hassall – every year since it began in 2004.
The 54-year-old, who works at the Technicolor distribution centre in Rugby, was the first to sign up for the charity event when it opened at the start of the year.
He will stand out from the crowd after being given a number ‘15’ to wear across his chest during the run, which takes place on Sunday April 7.
Ian said: “I have taken part in runs across the country over the years but for a while now the Regency 10k has been my main one.
“I have run it in snow, rain, hail and sun over the years, so I am prepared for whatever can happen this time around.
“I have been running since I was a teenager, I don’t really work to a regime anymore I just keep going, like Forrest Gump.”
