Kenilworth Show draws in the crowds

THE SUN had its hat on as thousands packed into Stoneleigh Park to enjoy the Kenilworth Show at the weekend.

The largest one-day agricultural show in the area attracted visitors from across Coventry and Warwickshire, the Midlands and beyond.

Organised by Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society (KADAS), the 72nd annual show featured an array of entertainment for all the family and was designed to showcase rural life at its best.

New features for this year included a pageant of carriages through the ages, an extended countryside area while there was a record number of entries in the homecraft section.

Favourites such as the grand parade of livestock, displays of vintage and modern farm machinery were also among the entertainment, along with quad bike stuntmen the Kangaroo Kids.

Show director Charlie Weetman said: “Every year the show grows, with the aim of giving visitors a good understanding of what rural and country life is all about, in a fun and interesting way.

“We’re thrilled with how the day went, and the weather was really good, which made a great change to last year.

“We were delighted to be named as one of the top country shows in the UK by Farmers Guardian earlier this year, and I’m confident we lived up to that billing from the hugely positive feedback from countless people telling us how much they enjoyed the day.

“I’m proud of everyone associated with Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society and the Kenilworth Show for the immense efforts they’ve made over the last year and would like to thank everyone joining us for being part of the day.”
